Who am I?
Hi! 👋🏼 I’m Maham, an energetic and curious UX designer and researcher who loves trying out new things—whether it’s a challenging recipe, a fun craft project, or extensively planning the details of my next trip. When I’m not designing, I’m often on the lookout for new experiences that inspire my creativity and keep me learning.
I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from LUMS and followed that up with a Master’s in Computer Graphics Technology, with a concentration in UX Design from Purdue University, where I graduated in May 2024. While my foundation is in tech, I’m passionate about working at the intersection of technology and user experience.
How did I get into UX?
My journey to UX started during my undergraduate years in Computer Science, where I realized I was more interested in how people interact with technology than simply coding. I discovered UX as the perfect balance between technical problem-solving and human-centered design. This realization led me to pursue my Master’s in UX Design, where I developed my skills in both research and design, working on projects that blend all aspects of UX.
I’m a bit of a generalist and enjoy dabbling in all facets of the design process—whether it’s conducting research, designing interfaces, testing out ideas or coding. I love projects where I can contribute across different areas or mix all these elements to create holistic, user-friendly solutions.
Right now, I’m actively seeking new opportunities in UX where I can continue growing and contributing.
My Interests
I’m always on the lookout for my next challenge—whether it’s tackling a 1000-piece puzzle, diving into different genres of books (yes, some nonfiction can be quite the challenge, but I’m up for it!), developing a WhatsApp bot to track my recipes (because there’s no app that combines links and my mom’s voicenote and texted recipes all in one place), or discovering new ways to add a “cherry on top” to everyday experiences.
I thrive on variety and enjoy bringing that same curiosity and creativity into my design work. Outside of UX, I love connecting with people from different backgrounds, which often influences my perspective on design and helps me grow.
